Hyderabad is the capital of Andhra Pradesh, one of the most visited tourist destinations of South India. It was founded by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shahi, ruler of the Qutb Shahi dynasty in 1591. It is a beautiful city situated on the banks of the river Musée. Believing local mythology, this city has been named on the interesting love story of Bhagmati and Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah.
It is said that Bhagmati was a dancing girl and Sultan fell in love with him. In the name of his love, Quli Qutb Shah named the city Bhagyanagar. When she embraced Islam, Sultan married her secretly, and her name was Haider Mahal. Based on this the name of the city later was Hyderabad.
The Qutb Shah dynasty ruled over Hyderabad for nearly 100 years. When Mughal emperor Aurangzeb attacked the southern end of India, he took Hyderabad under his sultanate. In 1724, Asif Jahan first established the Asif Jahi Dynasty and subdued the surrounding area including Hyderabad.
Asif Jahi Dynasty established themselves as the Nizam of Hyderabad. This title was found in the beginning only. The history of this city comes from the glorious era of the Nizams and the time of colonialism. Nizam ruled with Hyderabad and ruled Hyderabad for more than 200 years.
The city was the capital of the Nizams from 1769 to 1948. During Operation Polo, the last Nizam of Hyderabad made an agreement with the Indian Union, making Hyderabad the capital of Andhra Pradesh as well as an independent part of India.

The Cultural Identity And Specificity Of Hyderabad
Hyderabad is very interesting in the geographical location of Hyderabad. It is located in the place where North India ends and South India starts. This is why there is a confluence of two cultures here. Since ancient times, Hyderabad has been the center of art, literature, and music. If seen, only fine arts flourished under the protection of the Nizams. The Nizam had a lot of interest in these things and they never used to encourage worthy artwork. They were also very fond of eating royalty and they used to call cooks from all over India to make different dishes.
Today the local cuisine of Hyderabad is a mixture of catering to the various parts of India. There is no answer to the taste of local dishes. The Hyderabadi Dum Biryani is famous all over the world.
